Musquee de Provence is a large, flat, heirloom pumpkin from southern France. It's also known as the Fairytale pumpkin.
Appearance: Green when unripe, turning a rich brown when ripe Deeply lobed and ribbed. Resembles a wheel of cheese
Thick flesh is deep orange and dense with a distinct nutty flavor, and due to its fine grain flesh-- it's incredibly smooth.

Seed Sowing Depth: ½ -1” deep
Sowing Indoors: seeds indoors 3 weeks before last frost
Transplant outside after danger of frost has passed
Planting time: Wait until after the last frost and soil temperature reaches at least 70°F.
If direct sowing: Sow 2-3 seeds per hill, 1/2 inch deep, spaced 3-4 feet apart.
Spacing: Provide ample space for the large vines to spread, with rows 8-10 feet apart.
Soil preparation: Plant in well-drained, fertile soil, consider adding compost to the planting mounds.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid overwatering.
Harvesting: When the skin turns a deep color and becomes hard, cut the pumpkin from the vine, leaving a few inches of stem attached.

Cure in a warm, dark place for 2 to 3 weeks
Storage: Cure pumpkins in a dry, warm location for a few weeks before storing in a cool, dry place.
