Red Burgundy okra is an open-pollinated, heirloom variety.
It produces beautiful deep red pods with green tips. The pods have a moderate spine. The red burgundy okra tastes its best when you harvest them when at around 3 to 5 inches long.
Unlike most other okra varieties, the pods will still be tender at 6 to 7 inches. This okra is a great choice for pickling, stewing, or frying.
