Leek - Large American Flag Leek

Also known as Giant Musselburgh.

The Large American Flag leek is a non-bulbing leek variety with creamy white bottoms and blue-green stalks that can grow to be 15–18 inches tall. It's a member of the onion family with a mild flavor and is often used in soups, salads, and stews. .

Seed Count: 1.300g approx. 400 seeds

Germination: 5–14 days depending on the weather and soil conditions. The ideal soil temperature for germination is 60–75°F. 

Planting: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep and thin to 2–4 inches apart when the plants are 2 inches tall. 

Growing season: Leeks need a long growing season to reach their full size. They can be left in the ground until a hard freeze or pulled when mature and stored in a cool place. 

Hardiness Zones: Large American Flag leeks are cold hardy and can grow in zones 2–11. They can remain in the ground over winter, even in cold climates.
