Provide shade: During hot summer weather, peppers may appreciate some afternoon shade.

Thinning: Thin plants to at least 2 in apart.

Fertilizing: Feed plants regularly with a liquid fertilizer high in potassium.

Watering: Water plants well and moisten the soil evenly for the first few weeks after planting. Allow the soil to dry out between watering's.

Mulching: Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to help retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Staking: Pepper plants can become top heavy when loaded with fruit, so they do well with staking.
